Brown Sugar Milk Boba

Brown Sugar Milk Boba is a rich and creamy bubble tea drink made with chewy tapioca pearls coated in brown sugar syrup and served with cold milk. This café-style favorite is sweet, refreshing, and filled with caramel-like flavor.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 2 drinks

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup black tapioca pearls
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Cook the tapioca pearls according to the package instructions and drain well.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, water, and honey.
  3. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the syrup thickens slightly.
  4. Add the cooked tapioca pearls to the syrup and stir until fully coated.
  5. Simmer the pearls in the syrup for 2 to 3 minutes to absorb the flavor.
  6. Spoon the brown sugar boba into serving glasses.
  7. Swirl some syrup around the inside of the glasses to create caramel-like streaks.
  8. Add ice cubes and pour the cold milk over the top.
  9. Serve immediately with a wide straw.

Notes

  • Use oat milk or almond milk for a dairy-free version.
  • Add a shot of espresso for a coffee-flavored twist.

  • Add a pinch of cinnamon for extra warmth and spice.
  • The brown sugar syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
