Creamy Lemon Butter Dill Chicken

A rich and comforting chicken dish featuring tender breasts in a creamy lemon butter sauce infused with fresh dill. Perfectly balanced with bright citrus and savory flavors.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken for 5 to 7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and scrape up browned bits from the pan.
  5. Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Simmer gently until slightly thickened.
  6. Stir in chopped dill and adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper.
  7. Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over it. Simmer for 3 to 5 minutes to combine flavors.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs for a juicier alternative.
  • Add spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • Substitute half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • Avoid high heat to prevent sauce curdling.
  • Reheat gently with a splash of broth or cream.
