Marry Me Chicken

Marry Me Chicken is a rich and creamy chicken dish featuring tender pan-seared chicken breasts simmered in a flavorful parmesan cream sauce with sun-dried tomatoes and herbs. This comforting recipe is perfect for weeknight dinners, date nights, or special occasions.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear the chicken breasts for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  5. Stir in the chopped sun-dried tomatoes and cook for another minute.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the pan.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and parmesan cheese until smooth.
  8. Add red pepper flakes and simmer gently for 3 to 4 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  9. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top.
  10. Simmer for about 10 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  11. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Chicken thighs can be used instead of chicken breasts for extra juiciness.
  • Add spinach or mushrooms to the sauce for extra flavor and texture.
  • Serve with pasta, rice, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.
  • Half-and-half can replace heavy cream for a lighter version.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Reheat gently with a splash of broth or cream to keep the sauce smooth.
  • Freeze leftovers for up to 2 months, though the sauce texture may slightly change after thawing.
