Steak Bites in the Crock Pot

Steak Bites in the Crock Pot are tender pieces of beef slowly cooked in a rich, savory sauce until they become juicy and flavorful. This easy slow cooker recipe creates melt-in-your-mouth steak bites that pair perfectly with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

  • Total Time: 6 hours 10 minutes
  • Yield: 4–5 servings

Ingredients

  • 1½ lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Sear the steak bites on all sides until lightly browned.
  3. Place chopped onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the crock pot.
  4. Add the seared steak bites on top.
  5. Pour in the beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Sprinkle brown sugar, paprika, salt, and black pepper over the mixture.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours until the steak becomes tender.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to make a slurry.
  9. Stir the slurry into the crock pot during the last 20 minutes of cooking to thicken the sauce.
  10. Stir gently to coat the steak bites in the sauce.
  11. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Searing the steak first adds deeper flavor but can be skipped for convenience.
  • If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of beef broth when reheating.
  • Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles for a complete meal.
